Sweet and Sour Pork

Instructions

  • Marinate the pork pieces in soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, and cornstarch for about 30 minutes.

  • Heat oil in a wok or deep fryer. Deep fry the marinated pork until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  • In a separate pan, heat a little oil and sauté the garlic until fragrant. Add the bell peppers, onion, and pineapple. Stir-fry for a few minutes until slightly softened.

  • In the same pan, add the ketchup, rice vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, and water. Bring to a simmer.

  • Thicken the sauce with the cornstarch mixture, stirring constantly until it reaches your desired consistency.

  • Add the crispy pork to the sweet and sour sauce and toss to coat.

  • Serve hot and enjoy

  • 300g pork (cut into bite-sized pieces)

  • 1 green bell pepper (cut into chunks)

  • 1 red bell pepper (cut into chunks)

  • 1 onion (cut into chunks)

  • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)

  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks

  • Cooking oil for deep-frying


For the marinade:

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch


For the sweet and sour sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons ketchup

  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
