  • In a bowl, mix the mashed fermented black beans, minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and water.

  • Place the spare ribs in a heatproof dish and pour the black bean sauce mixture over the ribs. Make sure the ribs are evenly coated.

  • Prepare a steamer and steam the spare ribs for about 30-40 minutes until they are tender and cooked through.

  • Check the water level in the steamer periodically and add more water if needed.

  • Once the spare ribs are cooked, garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
